If the Sketcher is called up via the context menu command New 2D drawing.. [New 2D drawing...]. context menu command, the dialog window of the same name opens first.

After selecting a view [View] and confirming with OK, the Sketcher opens.

In the New 2D drawing mode, there are additional tools available compared to the pure sketch mode [Sketch], which are explained below.
