The prerequisite for using the attribute mapping [Attribute mapping] template is that the variables required to identify the specific characteristics of a part are listed in separate columns. For screws in the standard catalog, for example, these are usually the variables D (diameter) and L (length), possibly also P (thread pitch).

Often these variables are already separated in the PDM/PLM system. Otherwise these can be separated in a pre-process from a longer string - using Excel for example.
