An optional backup server must be set up on another server.

A master backup network should consist of servers of the same version (12.00/SP/build).

You should always try to install the license server on servers with only one IP address. Multi-homed (those with several IP addresses) should be avoided if possible.

It is advisable to use a current V12 license server, as RC4 was previously used for transmission protocols and V12 is a state-of-the-art encryption method. You can recognize this by the indication "V3" in the Status column.
