5.8.2.1.14.1.1.  Translate with DeepL

Translation with DeepL is subject to a charge. You need an authentication key [Authentication-key].

  1. In the index tree, select the desired level (catalog | directory | project).

  2. Click the context menu command Translation -> Show translations.

  3. Click on the Translate with DeepL button. (If the button is grayed out, the selected area is read-only)

-> The respective dialog is opened.

Dialog "Translate with DeepL [Translate with DeepL] "

Dialog "Translate with DeepL [Translate with DeepL] "

  4. Perform the desired settings:

    • Enter key [Key]

    • Select source language [Source language] in the list field

-> The corresponding table column is selected.

      • Replace empty fields with internal identifiers

If the chosen source language is empty, the term is fetched from the internal identifier.

      • Automatic language recognition by DeepL (per field)

When disabling the option the translation is defined by the selected column.

    • Target languages: Select one or more languages using the checkbox.

    • Glossary (optional) [Glossary (optional)]:

If you have created your own glossary, you can also make it available for the DeepL functionality. Simply enter the glossary ID [Glossary ID].

Terms that appear in the glossary are translated accordingly; terms that are not included there are still translated using standard functionality.

If the option Automatic language detection by DeepL (per field) [Automatic language recognition by DeepL (per field)] is activated, the Glossary ID field appears grayed out and the translation is only carried out using the standard functionality.

    • Restrict translations: Determine which types are to be translated.

      Type Visible in (for example)
Standard title Index tree in PARTdataManager (e.g. "Hexagon bolt")
Standard name PARTdataManager (Title in 3D window), feature tree of CAD system, CAD system pool, PARTserver
Assembly Mostly does not contain translatable terms and only has to be translated if it makes sense. Terms like "rb_rotary_asm_cfg", for example, don't have to be translated.
      Modes Core hole, Nominal thread
      Custom In def file
Variable group Separation of characteristic attribute table into groups (e.g. PARTcommunity)
      Variable value

Description text in the value range field

(If value range fields (yellow fields) contain translatable text (e.g. "with" / "without"))

      Product page

Product information pages created under PARTproject -> Settings -> "General" tab -> "General" item

      Media(Text) PDF datasheet
      Media(Table) PDF datasheet
      Media(Html) PDF datasheet
      Relation

Variable description In column header of PARTdataManager tables under the variable
Classification template Translations of the "_classstore" templates
Name of installation Description for the cip file
Part name Entry under PARTdesigner -> Identification details
Release notes PARTadmin -> Category -> Catalogs -> Updates -> Online
Classification Attribute description marked as translatable in the classification
      Variable name Characteristic attribute table
Drawing Name of a user-defined drawing
      View

Standard number Index tree in PARTdataManager (e.g. "DIN 933")
      Connection point PARTdesigner 3D view
Bom name PARTdataManager (title in table window), PARTbom, ERP and PDM systems
      Project value

NN and NT of a project, in there is no table

Usually contains no translatable terms and of course only needs to be translated if it makes sense.

    • Translation status:

      • All translations

      • Only already translated texts

      • Only missing translations (default)

  5. Finally, click on Translate [Translation].

-> Translated terms are marked in orange.

-> $xyz variables are not to be translated.

-> Exactly same terms are only translated once by DeepL and then distributed to related cells.

  6. Check the single translations. You can manually correct anytime.

If translations are missing, select a different source language [Source language] or the option Replace empty fields with internal identifiers.

Possibly use the internal identifier for the missing translations.

Possibly use the internal identifier for the missing translations.

Finally, confirm with OK. Only then will the translated terms be saved.
