5.5.1.7. Strict search!

For a strict search [Strict search], place an exclamation mark (!) at the end of the desired term.

Condition: The result may only contain what was entered (apart from spaces or a separator such as a period). The strict search [Strict search] tolerates stemming^[24].

For performance reasons, you may only perform the strict search [Strict search] as a variable search (e.g. MAT=copper).

Example

A search with
```
MAT=copper
```
for example, also finds "Rivet: copper, mandrel: phosphated steel".
If you only want to find "copper", use the strict search [Strict search].
```
MAT=Copper !
```
If, on the other hand, you only want hits with "Rivet: copper, mandrel: phosphated steel", e.g. you want to exclude hits with "copper" alone, then combine phrase search and strict search [Strict search].
```
MAT="Rivet: copper, mandrel: steel phosphated"!
```

	Note
	If the strict search [Strict search] is to be applied to a combination of several terms, it must be combined with the phrase search.

	Note
	Running a strict search [Strict search] across all catalogs may take a little longer!
