Parts management is the linking of catalog data with your data in the ERP/PLM system. This allows role-based approvals and views to be controlled and data from your systems to be displayed in ENTERPRISE 3Dfindit for the user.

General information on this can be found under Section 5.1, “Introduction”.

[Important]Important

An essential component of an installation with ERP, PDM and PLM integration is the link database, which stores links between ENTERPRISE 3Dfindit and third-party systems.

To set up a productive system, use an existing database system.[67]

This chapter "Installation Link database" guides you through the complete installation procedure step by step:

  • Hardware requirements

  • Installation of ENTERPRISE 3Dfindit parts management with PDM/ERP/PLM integration

  • Configuration of the database server connection (exemplified by MSSQL)

  • Create database scheme and users for ERP (exemplified by MSSQL)

  • ODBC driver

  • JDBC driver

  • ERP connection from ENTERPRISE 3Dfindit via ODBC/JDBC and ERP activation

For demo purposes, install the Sales Offline package. This installs an SQLite database with all the required configurations and demo data. You can skip this chapter "Installing the link database".

[67] MSSQL, Oracle, etc. Information on installing a database system is not included in this manual. SQL scripts can be found at $CADENAS\tools\databases.
