5.11. Configure column display - plinkcommon.cfg -> Block [LINKDBFIELDS] -

The block [LINKDBFIELDS] shows a listing of all existing LinkDB variables.

This corresponds to the listing in the user interface under PARTlinkManager -> Extras menu -> Configure dialog window -> PARTlinkManager settings [PARTlinkManager preferences] tab page -> Configure column display [Modify column display].

Creation of columns for the PARTdataManager table

Click on Add entry to add rows to the listing, i.e. corresponding setting options for the column display on the 3Dfindit side.

Click on Delete entry [Delete Entry] to delete the selected line.

Adding and deleting rows (columns) at this point affects the internal ENTERPRISE 3Dfindit configuration. There is no database access here. So it can happen that columns are added here, but do not exist in the database itself. In such cases an error message appears during login. Problems can easily be avoided if you use the dialog under PARTlinkManager -> Database-> [Database] Change/create database columns [Modify/create database columns] (with the option Create ERP column [within ENTERPRISE 3Dfindit] set). Then the new column is created both in the database and in ENTERPRISE 3Dfindit. For details see Section 5.3, “Add / remove database columns ”. Details on creating database tables via scripting can be found under Section 5.2.4.1, “Installation scripts ”.

Column position in PARTlinkManager

Select the desired line and draw it to the desired position up or down with pressed mouse key.

The single columns

Variable DB:
Field name in the database. For example, if you execute an SQL query with select * from ERPTABLE, these column names are displayed.
Variable
The name is used in 3Dfindit as a thinly written name of the column, in PARTdataManager as a bold one.

Make sure that exactly this name is used in all settings dialogs (configuration files).
Table
"Table" corresponds either to the LINKTABLE or the ERPTABLE. Newly applied columns are usually entered into the ERPTABLE.

The translated description can be found - if available - under PARTlinkManager -> Extras menu -> Configure ERP environment -> Translations tab page

The entry shows up at the following locations:
1. As column name in PARTlinkManager
2. As a lowercase column description in 3Dfindit/PARTdataManager
  
  3Dfindit: Spelling in lower case and bold
  
  PARTdataManager: Notation in small and thin
Description:
If there is no entry for the active language under PARTlinkManager -> Extras -> Configure ERP environment -> Translations tab page, the text under Description is used.

Format:
Examples:
- A10: Text string with a length of 10 characters; (valid for data type CHAR and VARCHAR. Input is not mandatory.)
- F5.3: Number with 5 pre-decimal places and 3 post-decimal places (valid for data type DECIMAL.)
- I10: Integer with max. 10 places (valid for data type INT and SMALLINT).
Visible:
Visible corresponds to the column visibility in the main window of PARTlinkManager. This can be set to Yes or No.
Group:
The individual columns in PARTlinkManager and PARTdataManager are highlighted in color.
The group name under Configure column display [Modify column display] -> Group column corresponds to the group names under Group definitions.
(Do not confuse this "group [Group] " with the user group (in the sense of "role"!)

Editable:
In the PARTlinkManager main window there is the button Edit. With this button you reach the window Edit row, where you can edit the database fields. If the field is set to "No", there is no access.
Text justification
Value range Left | Right: If the field content cannot be displayed completely, the left or right end is displayed (in PARTlinkManager, for example, the end of the path is displayed in the PSOL Project column).
Substring search:
...Corresponds to the search function in PARTdataManager:
- Manual [Manually]: For example, to find the expression "G23" in the string "AUG329422", the search must be defined as "*G32*" using wildcards.
- Free on both sides [Free both sides]: With this setting, it is sufficient to enter "G32" to obtain the desired result.

You can use icons in the column header of characteristic attribute tables in PARTdataManager. In this way you can mark columns with third party information (SAP for example).
Click on the Browse ... Button opens an Explorer window. Select the desired icon. The default storage path is $CADENAS_SETUP/bitmaps.
- PARTlinkManager: Assign the icon to the desired variable (column).
- 3Dfindit/PARTdataManager: Display of the icon in the corresponding column header of the table.

Unit: Optionally select the appropriate unit (length, weight, etc.).

Language: Specify the LinkDB language to ensure that the full text search works optimally.

	Note
	Internally applied methods such as stemming, for example, enhance the effectivity of the full-text search. However, stemming works different from language to language. That's why the LinkDB language has to be known.

Translatable:
Prerequisite: If TRANSLATIONTABLE is filled with values for certain ERP numbers, variables and languages and exactly these variables have been set to "Yes" in this option, they are displayed in 3Dfindit or PARTdataManager.
Note
As a rule, filling is automated via scripting.
Translations can be added, fetched and removed in vbs/c++:
