In Inventor, material and appearance of the material is handled separately.

If the key MATERIAL_DEFAULT_APPEARANCE is set to a correct value, known in Inventor, then the appearance is according to this value.

"Flat - Polished Gray" is the Standard Inventor Appearance.

"Dark green" would work as well, for example.

If a material is transferred from 3Dfindit and the MATERIAL_DEFAULT_APPEARANCE key is set, the representation takes precedence over material. If a material is transferred from 3Dfindit and the key MATERIAL_DEFAULT_APPEARANCE is not set, then the display corresponds to the material settings of Inventor. If neither a material nor the key MATERIAL_DEFAULT_APPEARANCE is set, then, in Inventor, the default value "Flat - Polished Gray" is used.

The material is displayed in the dialog box iProperties, on the tabbed page Physical.

Example: The material is "Copper".

Example: The appearance is "Dark green".

Preferably look up correct key values in the dialog box "Appearance browser".
