Self-signed certifcates should only be used for test purposes, because they have to be imported, managed and maintained on each client separately.

In order to use SSL (connection encryption) you can create a self-signed certificate.

A self-signed certificate can be created in PARTadmin or via Windows Power Shell. In the following two sections, both methods will be explained.
